For the 4th of July we headed to Prinsburg for the weekend. We had a little bump in the road before we actually got going...Joel started throwing up and so we waited until Friday to actually head up there. We think he might be allergic to bananas. We will be taking him in for some allergy tests this week. By Friday he was fine and we took off for the festivities. Ryan's entire family was able to be there for the weekend...9 kids (under age 5) under one roof was quite loud! Thankfully it was nice outside so they spent a lot of time playing and riding bikes. On Saturday I (Sheri) ran in the 5K fun run in the morning and was pleased with my finishing time. The rest of the day was spent enjoying the Prinsburg festivities...kids tractor pull, candy, inflatables, ice cream, candy, pork sandwiches, mini golf, candy, 3-wheeling, lots of family, the parade in the evening, and did I mention candy??? Kiera was thrilled with all the candy she got and is already asking when the 4th of July will come again. (Thank goodness the dentist visit is next week!) All our kids were not crazy about the fireworks, so we put the kids to bed and then enjoyed some of our own. We went to some relatives close by to light off the big ones. It was a fun time. We enjoyed just hanging out with family and getting lots of pictures of the cousins together...especially welcoming the new girl (finally!) to the family. Ella was so little compared to our boys!
Now we are back to a normal routine and enjoying the summer weather. The kids love to be outside, so we try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. A few weekends ago we actually attempted a family bike ride. It took a lot of patience, but overall was a fun time together.
On the 6th, Ryan and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary! It is crazy to look over the last 7 years and see how our life has changed and gone in amazing directions! We were able to go out last night for a nice quiet supper together. Ryan has been a great husband and an awesome father. I look forward to the next many many years together!
